Would you rather….

Taking a day off work, hoping someone shows up to discuss your project.

or…

Have multiple people call you to schedule a visit at your convenience?

That's the game-changing difference a 3D scan can make for your project.

It's like night and day in terms of the attention it attracts.

Why?

By scanning your property, you can share it with more people, faster.

This automatically filters out those who are genuinely interested and ready to give you a quote.
It also shows you're serious and committed to moving forward with your project.
Most skilled tradespeople are busy, so giving them virtual access to your space helps them determine if they can take on your project, speeding up the tender process.

So, what exactly is a 3D scan?

In a nutshell, it's a series of 360-degree images stitched together to create a model, which is then hosted on a platform.
This model can be shared and accessed on any device with an internet connection. It provides a level of context that 2D plans or photos simply can't match.
Being able to navigate the space allows you to explore, document, and discover freely.

This is why a 3D scan is a crucial part of the system I guide my clients through on their construction journey.

There are also a range of handy features (measuring tool, dollhouse and floorplan views) within the platform this video explains these features.

Example of Schematiic Floor Plan

Here's a great example of a floor plan created from a 3D scan. I include these with every scan I do for clients. It's the best way to show the current state of a building to any contractor or consultant you might want to work with.
Having this as part of your documentation is crucial because buildings change over time. Even if you have old drawings, they might be outdated—windows get removed, doors and internal walls change as different people own the property over the years.

These floor plans come in PDF, JPG, and DWG formats, making it easy for anyone to use them in drafting or estimating software.
A scan is more than just a nice picture; it provides a significant advantage when getting quotes from contractors.
It not only puts you at the top of the list for pricing but can also be shared with subcontractors like plumbers and electricians. The same goes for your design team, including engineers and drafting teams.

The value of these scans grows over time and throughout the life of your project.
